We quote after the free in-home water test, and the quote covers equipment, installation and service with no fees added later. Every residential product carries a lifetime manufacturer warranty. **Is Calgary water hard?** Yes. Calgary draws its supply from the Bow and Elbow rivers, and the treated water is hard enough that scale on kettles, taps and shower doors is normal across the city. We measure the exact hardness at your own tap during the free water test rather than quoting a city average. **Do I need a softener if I am on city water?** City water is treated to be safe, not soft. Municipal treatment removes pathogens but leaves dissolved calcium and magnesium behind, and that is what scales your water heater and dishwasher. So the answer depends on your measured hardness and how much scale you are already seeing, not on your supply. **How long does installation take?** Most residential softener or drinking water installations are finished in a single visit, usually a few hours, and your water is shut off for only part of that. The installer handles the plumbing tie-in, commissions the system, and walks you through the controls and salt refills before leaving. **What does the lifetime manufacturer warranty cover?** Every residential product IH2O supplies carries a lifetime manufacturer warranty, and service on those products is free for as long as you own the system, with no call-out fee.
