What we collect

We only collect what you type into a form on this site. That is your name, phone number, email address, city, optional postal code, the water source and property type you select, the symptoms you tick, your preferred contact time, and anything you write in the message box. The water report tool collects the same answers when you ask us to send the report.

We do not ask for and do not want financial information, health information, or government identifiers through this website.

How we use it

We use your details to contact you about the water test or question you submitted, to prepare for the visit, and to follow up on any quote or installation that comes out of it. If you tick the separate marketing box, we may also send occasional water treatment tips and offers. We never sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as we need them to serve you and to honour the lifetime manufacturer warranty on anything we install, and after that only as long as Alberta and federal record keeping rules require. If you never become a customer, tell us and we will delete your enquiry.

Third parties

This website is hosted by a third party hosting provider. Form submissions are processed by our website form handling service and delivered to IH2O staff. We use website analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, and an embedded Google Map on the contact page, which loads content from Google when you view it. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Consent and unsubscribing (CASL)

Canada's anti-spam legislation requires your express consent before we send commercial electronic messages. That is why the marketing checkbox on our forms is separate from the service request, is never ticked for you, and is optional. Agreeing to be contacted about a water test does not sign you up for marketing.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@iwateralberta.com. We action unsubscribe requests within 10business days.

Your rights under PIPEDA

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. You can also withdraw your consent, subject to any legal or contractual obligations we still have. We respond to access and correction requests within 30days.

Security

Information submitted through this site is transmitted over an encrypted connection and is available only to IH2O staff who need it to serve you. No online system is perfectly secure, so we ask you not to send sensitive personal information through website forms.
